ANKARA - State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said on Friday that exports from Turkey to Ukraine were expected to increase to 750 million U.S. dollar in 2004.
Tuzmen replied to questions aboard the plane en route from Ukraine to Turkey.
Stating that meetings between Turkish companies' representatives who accompanied him during his visit to this country and Ukrainian companies were good, he noted that problems of Turkish companies in Ukraine were bought onto the agenda during their visit to this country.
Tuzmen stated that important steps were taken to remove problems in meetings of Joint Economic Committee (JEC).
Replying to a question on Turkey's exports to Ukraine, Tuzmen said that exports from Turkey to Ukraine were expected to reach 750 million U.S. dollar in 2004 and noted that foreign trade volume between the two countries would increase to 4 billion U.S. dollars in 2005 and it would amount to 5 billion U.S. dollars in 2006.
Tuzmen also said that it was decided that the meeting of EU Trade Ministers would be held in Turkey in October as a result of their lobbying activities at the meeting of EU Ministers in Palermo.
