Provisional Foreign Trade Figures In 2003

ANKARA - Turkey exported 46 billion 877.6 million U.S. dollars of goods and imported 68 billion 734.1 million U.S. dollars of products in 2003.
The State Institute of Statistics (DIE) announced on Friday the provisional foreign trade figures in 2003 and December 2003.
The exports increased by 30 percent and the imports increased by 33.3 percent between January and December of 2003 when compared to same period of 2002.
The foreign trade deficit rose 41.1 percent from 15 billion 494 million 708 thousand U.S. dollars to 21 billion 856 million 472 thousand U.S. dollars in 2003.
The rate of exports meeting imports decreased from 69.9 percent to 68.2 percent in 2003.
Exports and imports amount to 4 billion 492 million 272 thousand U.S. dollars and 8 billion 55 million 329 thousand U.S. dollars respectively in December 2003.
The State Institute of Statistics (DIE) announced on Friday the provisional foreign trade figures in 2003 and December 2003.
As compared to December 2002, exports and imports have increased 38.5 percent and 50.0 percent respectively in December 2003.
