TRABZON - Counsellor of Indian Embassy in Ankara Manoj Bharti said on Friday that their target was to reach one billion dollars of trade volume between Turkey and India until the end of 2005.
Bharti who is currently in northern Trabzon province, visited Trabzon Industry and Trade Chamber (TTSO). Noting that the population of India exceeded one billion, Bharti said that India constituted a big market.
Noting that the trade volume between Turkey and India increased in the last ten years, Bharti said that the target was to increase the trade amount which was 750 million dollars in the year 2003 to one billion dollars until the end of 2005.
Bharti said that the economy in his country was good and its trade increased by 11 percent every year. Calling Turkish businessmen to invest in India, Bharti said that they were ready to help Turkish businessmen.
Bharti stressed that the number of visas demanded from the Indian Embassy increased by three folds after direct flights were organized between Turkey and India, adding that the number of mutual touristic and business trips also increased.
