Turkey Asks U.S. Not To Repeat Airspace Violations

ANKARA - Turkey, which launched a diplomatic move regarding the recent violation of Turkish airspace (over Iraqi border) by two U.S. fighter jets, asked the U.S. "not to repeat similar incidents".
According to diplomatic sources, an undersecretary from the U.S. embassy in Ankara was summoned to Turkish MFA this morning in order to hold a series of talks on the issue.
In a diplomatic note delivered to USA, Turkey demanded that such incidents should not be repeated, sources said.
Earlier today, MFA spokesman Levent Bilman stated that necessary diplomatic initiatives have been undertaken today in line with common protocols followed in incidents of airspace violations, after receiving a detailed report from the General Staff on Monday.
