ANKARA - Energy & Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler said on Tuesday that Nabucco Project -- which will carry Azerbaijani natural gas to Greece, Italy and Europe via Turkey -- would not be affected by conjunctural changes, and indicated they were determined to materialize the project.
16th International Petroleum & Natural Gas Congress (IPETGAS07) jointly organised by Chamber of Geology Engineers, Chamber of Petroleum Engineers and Association of Petroleum Geologists of Turkey kicked off in Ankara.
Minister Guler delivered a speech at the opening of the congress and emphasized that Turkey was a corridor between producer countries and energy importing states.
Guler reminded that two of these projects Baku-Tblisi-Ceyhan(BTC) crude oil pipeline and Shah sea project were completed. He said the 170th tanker would be loaded soon from the BTC pipeline and the first gas would be sent to Greece within the Shahsea project, in July.
Minister Guler indicated that they attached utmost importance to exploration and production activities in energy sector and claimed that Turkey would become a self sufficient country in energy by 2015.
