Opposition Anavatan Set To Join Democratic Party

ANKARA - Opposition Motherland Party (ANAVATAN) is set to hold a congress on June 2nd to make a decision on joining the Democratic Party (DP) ranks. The two parties will participate in the upcoming general elections under the banner of DP.
The True Path Party (DYP) changed its name to Democratic Party (DP) last weekend to clear the way for a merger between the True Path and Motherland parties.
ANAVATAN was founded on May 20th, 1983 by late president and premier Turgut Ozal.
