Turkey Raises $505.3 Million Income Through Exports Of Hazelnuts

TRABZON - Turkey exported 137 thousand 867 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of 505 million 351 thousand 776 U.S. dollars in the 25th week of the hazelnut export season which started on September 1, 2003.
Black Sea Hazelnut and Products Exporters' Association told the A.A correspondent on Wednesday that Turkey was exporting hazelnuts to 80 countries.
They said that Turkey exported 111 thousand 552 tons of hazelnuts to the European Union (EU) countries, 14 thousand 489 tons of hazelnuts to other European countries, 7 thousand 784 tons of hazelnuts to overseas countries and 4 thousand 40 tons of hazelnuts to other countries.
In the same period of the last export season, Turkey had exported 181 thousand 275 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of 410 million 452 thousand 29 U.S. dollars.
