Belgian Delegation Visits State Minister Sener

ANKARA - State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullatif Sener said on Tuesday that they are expecting a positive stance from their friends in Europe on starting of Turkey's membership negotiations, especially from Belgium, in EU Summit.
Belgian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Annemie Neyts-Uyttebroeck and an accompanying delegation, who are currently in Turkey as the guest of Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Commission Chairman Mehmet Dulger, visited Sener.
Sener told reporters prior to the meeting that Turkey and Belgium had friendly relations.
Noting that 2004 would be an important year for Turkey, Sener said that EU would decide in December whether Turkey's EU membership negotiations would start or not. He added that Turkey was expecting a positive stance from its friends in Europe, especially from Belgium, in EU Summit.
Uyttebroeck then gave information about her meetings in Turkey.
