Turkey - EU Troika Meeting Due June 4th

ANKARA - Turkey- European Union (EU) troika meeting will take place on June 4th in Ankara, with the participation of German FM Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Portuguese FM Luis Amado and EU Commissioner for enlargement Olli Rehn.
The meeting that will be hosted by Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Premier Abdullah Gul is expected to take place in State Guest House.
Turkey`s status in the EU membership process will be assessed in the meeting as well as issues such as EU-NATO relations, security, fight against terrorism, Cyprus and regional & international developments.
Turkey aims to open chapters on "Statistics", "Economic & Monetary policies" and "Financial control" before the end of Germany`s rotating EU presidency.
Portugal will be the next country to hold rotating EU presidency.
