CAYCUMA - Nurol and Kibar groups are planning to realise a billion-dollar project at the Filyos valley, with an approximately 10,000 sq.km available area suitable for investment in Caycuma town of Zonguldak.
The Filyos scheme believed to be among the biggest investment projects after the Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) lure investors with its soon to be opened airport, existing railroad between Zonguldak and Ankara, as well as highway transportation.
Yavuz Erkmen, the Governor of Zonguldak, spoke to AA correspondent and indicated that a thermic power plant, a cement factory and industry facilities, as well as the largest pier in the Blacksea, would be constructed in Filyos.
"There will also be a navy yard, a free zone and other industrial enterprises in the area. Nurol-Torunlar consortium submitted a proposal for a thermal power plant and a pier to be built. Moreover Kibar Group submitted a proposal for the iron and steel factory. Companies started initiatives regarding the project. Filyos Valley project will definitely be actualised," said Erkmen.
He emphasized that the planned investments would revive the whole region economically and create new jobs.
