ANKARA - Turkey which targets to undertake the energy corridor mission in its region by putting important energy investments into practice, will activate another prior project in this field.
Studies on implementation of the Babaeski-Greece energy transmission line project on which the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry has been working, were completed. Process of an international tender for construction of the line will be initiated following completion of the tender specifications.
The existing networks of the two countries and the transmission line that will connect Turkish-Greek power line networks will be integrated to the joint network. The transmission line which will be financed by the World Bank will be 264 meters in length.
200 kilometers part of the line will be constructed on the Greek soil while the remaining 64 kilometers part will be on Turkish territories.
With the line of which construction is planned to start this year, Turkey can transfer demand surplus to several European countries via Greece.
