Jamerson Says F-35 Project Will Create New Job Opportunities For Turkey

ANKARA - James Jamerson, president for Middle East and Africa regions of the Lockheed Martin (LM) aircraft company, said on Wednesday that the F-35 project would create new job opportunities for Turkey worth of 5 billion USD.
Holding a news conference at the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2007) in Ankara, Jamerson said that the Lockheed Martin made contributions of 100 million USD to Turkish companies such as the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), Aselsan and MIKES.
He said that the project would also contribute to efforts to increase technological capacity of Turkish defense industry by creating job opportunities including assembly of fuselage and equipment.
Jamerson added that the F-35 joint strike fighter would be used effectively as a fifth generation strike aircraft in the next five decades.
