ANKARA - Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Yasar Buyukanit signed military cooperation agreements with Qatari Chief of General Staff Gen. Hamad Bin Ali Alateyah and Bahraini State Minister for Defense Gen. Muhammad bin Abdallah al-Khalifa, on Wednesday.
General Buyukanit received two generals separately, in his office.
Prior to signature ceremony, Buyukanit held a meeting with Qatari general Hamad Bin Ali Alateyah. Gen. Buyukanit pointed to Turkey's historical ties with Qatar, and stressed that this "framework military cooperation in education, technology and science," would deepen the relations further.
On the other hand, Buyukanit met with Gen. Muhammad bin Abdallah al-Khalifa in his office and two generals signed the framework cooperation agreement between Turkey and Bahrain.
Upon a question from a reporter on whether the explosion that occurred in Ankara, killing 6 and injuring over 80, was targeted at him, Buyukanit said "the terrorist did not say anything like that to me."
