ANKARA - Bulent Arinc, Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, said on Wednesday that a joint platform for countering terrorism should be formed with the participation of the EU member states and other countries in the world.
Speaking to the press after the parliament chairmanship council meeting regarding the terrorist attack in Ankara, Bulent Arinc indicated the bomb attack was staged to create fear and panic among the public.
"We are combatting terrorism and will continue to do so. But this is not something like a single state can manage on its own. A joint platform for countering terrorism should be formed with the participation of the EU member states and other countries in the world, and beginning with the definition of terrorism, measures to counter terrorism should be determined with haste. Turkey is a party to all international agreements against terrorism and is exerting all the necessary efforts it can regarding this issue," said Arinc.
