Counter-narcotics Operations

VAN/NEVSEHIR/IZMIR/GEVAS - Security forces impounded 59.7 kg of heroin and 27.7 kg of hashish in counter-narcotics operations on Tuesday.
Security forces seized 59.7 kg of heroin in two trucks in the eastern city of Van which was brought in from Afghanistan via Iran.
Five people were detained in the operation. Meanwhile, 835.5 kg of heroin and 400 kg of hashish have been confiscated in the city since the beginning of the year.
Meanwhile, security forces impounded 27.7 kg of hashish in the cities of Nevsehir, Izmir and Van. Six people were detained in connection with illicit drug trafficking.
