ISTANBUL - Maria Sharapova of Russia, who participates the Third Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Istanbul Cup International Women`s Tennis Tournament as the first seed, qualified to the quarter-final after beating Tsvetana Pironkova of Bulgaria 2-0.
