Turkish Musician Comes Second In Tallin Jazz Competition

TALLIN - Young Turkish saxophone player Meric Demirkol came second in an international jazz competition in the Estonian capital of Tallin.
The competition, held on the sidelines of Nomme Jazz Festival, featured young jazz vocalists and instrument players from Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Denmark,Sweden and Turkey.
Born in 1975, Demirkol began his musical training in Hacettepe Conservatory at the age of 8 and graduated in 1995 from Bilkent University Faculty of Music.
Demirkol is a member of Istanbul Superband and Istanbul Radio`s Jazz Orchestra.
