ANKARA - State Minister Ali Babacan said on Thursday that ambassadors of European Union (EU) member countries expressed pleasure over the studies carried out in Turkey both in political and economic areas.
EU Term President Ireland's Ambassador in Ankara Sean Whelan hosted a lunch in honor of ambassadors of 15 EU member countries and 12 candidate countries in Turkey and Babacan.
Speaking after the lunch, Babacan said they discussed the steps taken by Turkey in full membership process to the EU.
Babacan said, ''we aim at turning Turkey into a country catching up with Maastrich criteria as of 2007.''
