ANKARA - Five people, one of them a Pakistani, died and more than 60 were injured on Tuesday, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, in an explosion he described as a "terrorist attack."
"Unfortunately, four of our citizens and one Pakistani national were killed," Erdogan said at the scene of the blast that rocked one of Ankara`s busiest commercial districts at the evening rush hour.
"More than 60 people were injured. Four of them are Pakistani nationals," he added.
Erdogan said crime scene investigators were working to determine the details of the explosion in the Ulus district, but said no arrests had yet been made.
Ankara Mayor Melih Gokcek earlier said police believed the explosion was caused by a bomb.
