ANKARA - Turkey's special envoy for countering terrorism retired general Edip Baser was removed from office, Turkish State Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullatif Sener told reporters following the Council of Ministers meeting on Monday.
Following this statement, Turkish Prime Ministry Press Center noted that Rafet Akgunay, Turkish Foreign Ministry Deputy Undersecretary, has been appointed as Turkey's special envoy for countering terrorism.
"Besides ongoing fight against terrorist organization; efforts continue to cut supports as well as prevent activities of terrorist organization abroad both on bilateral dimension with the United States and also on trilateral dimension with Iraq and the United States," noted the press center.
