International Symposium On Common Cultural Values Of Kazakhstan And Turkey

ALMATY - The International Symposium on Common Cultural Values of Kazakhstan and Turkey" began on Monday in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Scientists from Turkic countries will present their reports at the two-day symposium which was organized by Kazakhstan's Abay National State University, Turkish World Research Foundation and Turkey's Cukurova University.
Turkish Ambassador to Kazakhstan Taner Seben said at the opening of the symposium that cultural activities between Turkey and Kazakhstan improved after Kazakhstan acquired its independence.
Reminding that Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev proposed to initiate a "program for common cultural heritage of Turkic world" and to establish a science and arts foundation, Seben said these proposals would guide the two countries to discover common cultural values.
Seben also noted that Turkey exerted efforts to assist Kazakhstan in changing its alphabet to Latin.
