ANKARA - Turkey sent 103 million YTL (one dollar equals 1.33 YTL) to Pakistan in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake and was ranked the third among countries that sent most financial aid to Pakistani people, said Turkish State Minsiter and Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Sahin in his reply to a motion with question.
Sahin also said Turkish non-governmental organizations raised 210 million USD of financial aid for Pakistani people.
According Sahin's statement, Turkey sent search and rescue teams, paramedics, financial aid, medical materials and foodstuffs to disaster areas in Iran, Iraq, Palestine, Sudan, Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania, Indonesia, Lebanon and USA in past four years.
Moreover, Turkey constructed infrastructure, shelters in Indonesia for tsunami victims and schools in Lebanon.
