ANKARA - The agreement signed between Turkey and the United States on closing Belbasi seismic facility and opening of a new seismic research station was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force on Thursday.
The agreement foresees closure of Belbasi Seismic Station in Ankara and opening of a new one, and it regulates the transition period and transfer of responsibility regarding operation and maintenance of the station from the U.S. government to Turkish government.
The agreement was signed in Ankara on February 8, 2000.
