AKCAKOCA - Black Sea natural gas coming from offshore Akcakoca, started flowing through the main distribution channels, with an inauguration ceremony participated by Turkish Energy and Natural Sources Minister Hilmi Guler.
Delivering a speech in the ceremony in Cayagzi natural gas processing facilities, Guler noted that natural gas from offshore Akcakoca could meet one-tenth of natural gas consumed in dwellings in Turkey.
"The search for natural gas was launched four years ago. We conducted several analyses (in regard to drilling process for natural gas offshore Akcakoca). Our engineers found natural gas in the first exploration. We have great expectations from Black Sea," Guler stated.
Underlining that they attached great importance to Akcakoca, Guler remarked that nine wells (offshore Akcakoca) are expected to pump 2 million cubic meters of natural gas per day.
On the other hand, Murat Altiparmak, deputy director general of Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO), said that they expected that 4-4.5 million cubic meters of gas would be produced per day soon.
