NEW YORK - Turkish Day Parade Ball took place in Manhattan as the American-Turks prepare for the 26th Turkish Day Parade in New York that will take place on Saturday.
The parade is organized in the framework of the 26th New York Turkish-American Culture Festival.
Turkey`s Ambassador to U.S Nabi Sensoy, New York Consul General Mehmet Samsar, Azerbaijan State Minister Nazim Ibrahimov, Turkey`s Permanent Representative to United Nations Baki Ilkin, as well as several MPs and officials from Turkey were among the participants of the ball.
Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer released a statement marking the Turkish Day, emphasizing importance of solidarity among Turkish society in the United States and their role in promoting Turkey.
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan released a statement marking the day, as well.
The Turkish Day parade will kick off today at noon (07.00 p.m. Turkish local time) at the intersection of Madison Avenue and 56th Street. It will end at the Dag Hammarskjold Park close to the Turkish House. A Turkish Day festival will continue here until late hours in the evening.
