MADRID - "Whoever wins the elections (to be held on July 22nd), Turkey`s basic policies, like foreign affairs and energy policies, will remain the same," said Turkish Ambassador to Spain Ender Arat.
Speaking at a seminar in Madrid on Friday organized under the theme "Energy Security in Europe and the Mediterranean: A Spanish-Turkish Contribution", Arat reminded that Turkey achieved global projects like the Blue Stream and Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipelines. He assured Spanish businessmen that Turkey`s policies would not change after the upcoming elections.
On the other hand, Spanish Ambassador in Special Mission for Mediterranean Affairs Juan Prat said, "when we talk about Europe`s security, Turkey is on a transit route. Even if its connected to Europe with a small spot geographically, nothing can stop Turkey from strengthening the EU geostrategically, culturally and politically. Turkey is necessary for Great Europe."
