ANKARA - "Seoul is important as it is the first sister city of Ankara," said Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Melih Gokcek who met Seoul Mayor Oh Se-Hoon in Ankara on Friday within the scope of "Seoul Culture Days".
Gokcek said that Ankara and Seoul have been sister cities since 1971.
He recalled that Ankara Days were held in Seoul last year. He added that cultural, technical and social activities are being held within the scope of Seoul Days.
Gokcek and Oh Se-Hoon signed a cooperation agreement on e-municipality.
Gokcek noted that they will cooperate with Seoul Municipality within the scope of the agreement.
On the other hand, Oh Se-Hoon said that relations between Turkey and South Korea have developed so far in a secure way.
Se-Hoon also thanked for Turkey's support in Korean War in the past.
