ISTANBUL - "The 2nd meeting of Turkey-Africa Foreign Trade Bridge", organized in order to improve the commercial relations between Turkey and African countries, ended in Istanbul on Friday.
Many of the businessmen who attended the 3-day meeting will pay visits to 40 Anatolian cities starting from Saturday and seek investment opportunities.
The participants are expected to hold talks with 1,700 businessmen in Istanbul and 3,300 entrepreneurs in Anatolian provinces within the framework of these visits.
On the other hand, the deals initiated thanks to the meeting reached nearly 2 billion USD, sources said.
Pointing to the 26 percent-increase in exports from Africa to Turkey last year, Rizanur Meral, chairman of Confederation of Industrialists and Businessmen of Turkey (TUSKON), stressed that the meeting they organized made a positive impact on this rise.
Moreover, Meral indicated that they expected a higher participation in next year's meeting.
