ISTANBUL - Trade volume between Turkey and Egypt is expected to reach 2 billion USD at the end of 2007, Bulent Savas, the chairman of Turkish-Egyptian Business Council, said on Friday.
"The trade volume was over 1 billion USD in 2006," he stated during the Tenth Meeting of the Turkish-Egyptian Business Council in Istanbul.
On the other hand, Adel Ismail Gazarin, the co-chairman of the Turkish-Egyptian Business Council, proposed that Turkish entrepreneurs should invest in automotive and advanced agricultural technologies in Egypt, not only in textile industry; that Turkish and Egyptian businessmen establish joint companies; and boost joint trade relations.
Gazarin noted that Egypt can be Turkey`s door opening on Africa, and suggested that two countries make joint investments in Africa.
