ANKARA - A four-member delegation from European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) will pay a visit to Turkey on May 19th, 2007 to hold several meetings.
March Nevede Meverguies will head the delegation which also includes Jean-Pierre Retsellini, Fabrice Kellens and Timothy Harding.
The delegation is expected to examine prisons, jails, houses of detention, airports, border gates as well as guest houses where foreigners accommodate.
The delegation will be able to talk with everybody, deprived of freedom, without any restriction and also be able to examine every kind of documents about those people.
It was reported that the CPT delegation imposes secrecy on the places they would examine.
