Turkish Flag-raising Ceremony Held In New York

NEW YORK - Turkish flag and U.S. flag were raised together at the Bowling Green Park near Wall Street, New York on Thursday.
"The 7th Flag-Raising Ceremony" was held ahead of the 26th Turkish Day Parade to be held on May 19th in New York.
In the ceremony organized by Federation of Turkish American Associations (FTAA), Ibrahim Kurtulus, chairman of executive board of "Bowling Green" Association, said that Turkey was a secular and democratic country which exerted great efforts for supremacy of law, human rights and the motto of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk`s, the Founder of Turkish Republic, "Peace At Home, Peace In The World".
On the other hand, Turkey`s Consul General in New York Mehmet Samsar remarked that he would work really hard to boost sound friendly relations between Turkey and the United States.
