Israel Thanks Turkey For Suppport It Extended In OECD Talks

ANKARA - Turkey`s support to Israel has been influential in the decision of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), inviting Israel to start negotiations for accession to the organization.
The Israeli Embassy issued a statement on Thursday underlining the support that Turkey, an OECD member, extended to Israel contributing greatly to the adoption of the decision.
The statement said the decision coming from one of the world`s most important economic organizations, reflected the confidence felt in the Israeli economy and its expected future growth and claimed would attract vast amount of foreign capital inflow to Israel.
At the annual Ministerial Council Meeting of OECD in Paris on May 16th, a decision approving the beginning of accession negotiations with 5 countries including Israel was taken. Other countries that will start accession negotiation talks with OECD are Chile, Russia, Estonia and Slovenia.
