TRABZON - "We have no document or information reaffirming the claims," said Nuri Okutan, Governor of Turkish northern city of Trabzon, said on Thursday while commenting on the allegations pertaining to the private plane which crashed after it took off from Trabzon for Iranian city of Tabriz.
Speaking to reporters after his meeting with Iran`s Deputy Consul General Mehdi Marzdar in Trabzon, Okutan said, "the technical delegation we have formed on the matter investigated the allegations and prepared a report."
On the other hand Marzdar said, "those people (aboard the plane) in question have no registration at our consulate."
A "Sky Arrow 650T" plane which took off from Ankara on May 10th landed in Trabzon for bunkering. It had to wait a few days at Trabzon Airport because of adverse weather conditions and left for Tabriz at noon on May 13th and got lost.
The plane was piloted by a British Michael Newman and a Pakistani B. Bhangoo.
There were claims that the plane was carrying nuclear substances.
The wreckage of the plane and the bodies of Newman and Bhangoo were found on May 15th.
