ANKARA - Republican People`s Party (CHP) Chairman Deniz Baykal announced on Thursday that CHP and Democratic Left Party (DSP) agreed to cooperate in general elections.
Baykal and Sezer held a joint press conference after their meeting at CHP headquarters.
Baykal said CHP and DSP, as the two distinguished social democratic parties that have undertaken important responsibilities in the past, decided to enter the upcoming elections in electoral alliance to form a national solution under social democratic values that would reconcile the divided political structure, save the masses from economic problems and claim the fundamental principles of the Republic.
On the other hand, DSP Chairman Zeki Sezer reiterated his decision not to run for deputy but remain as the chairman of his party at the press conference.
