Terrorism Can No Way Be Justified, Ilkin

VIENNA - Terrorism can no way be justified, Baki Ilkin, Turkey`s Permanent Representative to UN, said on Thursday.
"Terrorism should be condemned in every occasion. We need international cooperation for an efficient fight against terrorism," he stated during a symposium on "Implementation of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy" in Austrian capital of Vienna.
Pointing out that terrorists easily reach their targets in anti-democratic, poor and uneducated societies, Ilkin said, "establishing a democratic and just order, and ending poverty and illiterateness are the main factors of combatting terrorism."
"Countries which tolerate terrorism will definitely be the victims of it some day," he emphasized and said that terrorism is the top enemy of democracy, peace and human rights.
Ilkin noted that sources of terrorism should be eradicated, and added, "cooperation among cultures and civilizations and mutual understanding have to be boosted in order to counter terrorism, which is a universal problem."
