ISTANBUL - World-famous Maria Sharapova of Russia arrived in Turkish metropolis of Istanbul on Thursday to participate in the international women`s tennis tournament "Sony Ericsson WTA Istanbul Cup 2007".
Venus Williams of the USA is another famous tennis player who will participate in the tournament that will take start with qualifying round matches on May 19th. Williams is to arrive in Istanbul on Friday.
The tournament will be held between May 21st and 26th.
