UN Counter-terrorism Symposium Begins In Vienna

VIENNA - An international symposium on "Implementation of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy" has begun in Vienna, Austria on Thursday.
High-level diplomats from 192-member countries including Turkey are in attendance at the symposium.
The Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in September 2006. It is expected to come into force after being debated by the member countries.
Turkish Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations Baki Ilkin represents Turkey at the symposium.
Ilkin is expected to deliver a speech later in the day on "prevention of spread of terrorism".
The symposium will end on Friday.
