ISTANBUL - "Angola is endeavoring to heal the wounds of war. This is not something we can cope with alone," Angola`s Deputy Minister of Commerce Manuel da Cruz Neto said on Wednesday.
Taking the floor at Turkey-Africa Foreign Trade Bridge 2nd meeting held in Istanbul, Neto said Angola was one of the rapidly growing countries of Africa thanks to its oil and diamond industry."
Neto also asked for Turkey`s support to heal the wounds caused by the long lasting war in the country, "there is the necessary capacity in Turkey and potential in Angola. Let us unite forces," he added.
On the other hand Chad`s Minister of Commerce & Artisans Youssouf Abassalah pointed to the potential of his country, indicating that oil rich Chad was willing to diversify its economic products.
Democratic Republic of the Congo Minister of Lands Liliane Pande Muaba asked Turkey to share its know-how.
Equatorial Guinea Foreign Minister Pastor Miche Ondo Bile said, "as a friendly country, we are closely monitoring Turkey`s social and economic development. We are pleased over the developments in Turkey. We are ready to make collaboration with Turkey."
According to sources, around a thousand businessmen from 43 countries, a vice president, a prime minister and ministers from 30 countries are actually attending the meeting.
The meeting will end on May 18th.
