ISTANBUL - "Turkey`s strength is its human resources. Culture, youth and population in the country makes us trust in Turkey," said Ferdinando Beccalli-Falco, President & CEO, General Electric (GE) International on Wednesday.
Beccalli who is in Istanbul for GEDay, which is a promotional event organized by the company, assessed possible future investments in Turkey to be made by the GE.
Stressing the importance of young population of Turkey in terms of human resources, Beccalli also stated his support for Turkey`s EU membership. He added that the population in European Union is getting old, whereas Turkey is a young country.
On the other hand, Beccalli pointed out to the need for infrastructure in fast growing markets such as Turkey. Stating that GE invests in infrastructure in sectors such as energy, health and finance, he said the company`s interest in investments in Turkey continues since 1948.
Reminding that GE produces equipments for gas, nuclear energy, wind power, alternative energies, Beccalli said the company might cooperate with Turkish government in those areas.
"The government in Turkey is aiming to invest in energy sector, and GE wants to contribute in these efforts," he noted.
GE CEO expressed his support for nuclear energy saying it is a long lasting energy source that produces large amounts of energy, without causing pollution.
