ISTANBUL - Turkish Airlines (THY) signed a cooperation protocol with Turkish Red Crescent Society on Wednesday.
Tekin Kucukali, general manager of Turkish Red Crescent Society who delivered a speech at the signing ceremony at the THY HQ, said THY authorities have never turned down demands of Red Crescent and this protocol will carry the cooperation between two institutions further.
Kucukali said that thanks to support from THY, Red Crescent delivered Turkish people`s aid to aggrieved parties in Africa that suffer from disputes over 20 years.
Candan Karlitekin, president of THY, stated that the company has supported many social responsibility projects and will continue to do so.
More than 300 tonnes of humanitarian aid were carried by THY for Red Crescent since 2005, said Karlitekin.
THY made five flights to Pakistan following the earthquake in 2005 and delivered 156 tonnes of aid.
