Athletes Bring Soil From Ataturk's House In Thessaloniki

EDIRNE - Athletes brought soil from Ataturk`s house in Thessaloniki within the scope of the "19th Ataturk Remembrance & Peace Run" which was organized by Turkish Athletics Federation.
Athletes who took the soil from the garden of Ataturk`s house brought it to Ipsala border pass in Turkish northwestern city of Edirne.
Edirne Governor Nusret Miroglu, Turkish Consul General in Komotini Ahmet Riza Demirel, elected Mufti of Xanthi Ahmet Mete as well as representatives of associations in Western Thrace attended a ceremony which was held at Ipsala border gate.
A total of 32 athletes will run 737 kilometers and carry the soil to Ankara on May 18th, and deliver it to the President on "May 19th, Ataturk Remembrance, Youth & Sports Day".
