IZMIR - The 17th Cesme Maritime Festival and the International Song Contest will be held in Cesme resort town of western city of Izmir between July 9th and 14th.
Erol Yaras, Ege Television and Radio Executive Board Chairman, said on Wednesday that world-famous "Chico&Gypsies" band would give a concert at the festival contributing to promotion of Izmir and Turkey.
Yaras stated that several competitions with participation of Turkish and Greek swimmers would take place as well as art exhibitions would be held during the maritime festival.
He noted that singers from Turkey, Sweden, Italy, Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Norway, Estonia, Spain, Denmark, Romania and Greece would participate in the song contest to be held on July 14th.
On the other hand, Cesme Mayor Faik Tutuncuoglu remarked that these activities would boost the number of tourists visiting the town.
