Tuzmen Meets African Ministers

ISTANBUL - "We are exerting efforts to increase our trade volume with African countries up to 15 billion U.S. dollars for this year," Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said on Wednesday.
Tuzmen met ministers from 20 African countries, who are actually in Istanbul to attend the 2nd meeting of "Turkey-Africa Foreign Trade Bridge" program sponsored by the Turkish Confederation of Businessmen & Industrialists (TUSKON).
"We aim to boost trade with African countries," Tuzmen stressed.
Stating that African countries were fighting against poverty, political instabilities and regional clashes, Tuzmen remarked, "we are eager to create a platform where we (Turkey and African countries) can grow together."
Noting that Turkish contracting companies undersigned important projects in Africa, Tuzmen added that the amount of projects totalled nearly 85 billion USD.
