ANKARA - The capacity utilization in the manufacturing sector dropped to 81.8 percent in April 2007 from 82.3 percent in April 2006.
Turkish Institute of Statistics (TUIK) released on Wednesday a tendency survey for April 2007. According to the data, capacity utilization reduced by 0.5 percent.
The first reason for not attaining full capacity was the shortage of demand in domestic market, TUIK indicated. Shortage of raw materials, financial problems, labor problems and shortage of energy were the other reasons.
Meanwhile, production decreased by 0.3 percent in April over the previous month, while sales climbed by 4 percent.
