30 F-16 Jets For Turkish Air Force

ANKARA - "The procurement of 30 `F-16 Block 50` type jets by the Turkish government shows the close cooperation between Lockheed Martin Corporation and the Turkish Air Force," said John Larson, Deputy Chairman in charge of the F-16 programs at Lockheed Martin, on Tuesday.
Larson issued a written press release after Turkish Minister of National Defense Vecdi Gonul and U.S. Ambassador in Ankara Ross Wilson signed an agreement on the sale of 30 F-16 jets on May 11th.
"The F-16 continues to be an effective, affordable and multi-functional attack aircraft. The current procurement of 30 F-16 jets by Turkey is a clear proof of real cooperation between Lockheed Martin and the Turkish Air Force. The reliability of F-16 jets has been proven by the third order of the Turkish Air Force," told Larson.
The 30 F-16 Block 50 type jets cost 1.8 billion USD.
