EDIRNE - Gendarmerie teams intercepted 15 Iraqis who were trying to flee to abroad in northwestern province of Edirne.
Sources said on Tuesday that gendarmerie teams had captured 15 foreigners of Iraqi origin during their controls in check-points in Meric town of Edirne.
Officials said those foreigners who did not have passport or identity card were planning to flee to Europe via Greece after crossing the border illegally.
Those foreigners would be deported, officials said.
