LEFKOSA - Sides are making their final preparations two days before resumption of negotiations that aim at finding a solution to the Cyprus issue.
U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan's Special Envoy to Cyprus Alvaro De Soto who will arrive in the island in the evening to attend the negotiations that will revive on Thursday as the representative of Annan will separately meet with Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Rauf Denktas and Greek Cypriot administration leader Tassos Papadopoulos on Wednesday.
Time-table and method of negotiations will be determined after De Soto's meetings with Denktas and Papadopoulos. Also, the time of the first talk on Thursday, February 19 will be set during those meetings.
Meanwhile, U.N. Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) spokesman Brian Kelly announced that De Soto would come to Cyprus after completing his meetings in Brussels.
Kelly said that the plane carrying De Soto was expected to land at Larnaka Airport at about 7.30 p.m. Turkish local time.
