EDIRNE - Gendarmerie teams intercepted 33 foreigners who were trying to flee to abroad in their operations in last two days in northwestern province of Edirne.
Sources said on Monday that Gendarmerie teams had captured 33 foreigners from Afghanistan, China, Mauritania, Congo and Iraq in their controls in check-points in Ipsala town of Edirne in last two days.
Officials said those foreigners who did not have passport or identity card were planning to flee to Europe via Greece after crossing the border illegally.
Those foreigners would be deported, officials said.
