TRABZON - "Efforts to find the private plane, which got lost on its way to Iranian city of Tabriz, have been suspended till tomorrow morning," Nuri Okutan, the Governor of northern city of Trabzon, said on Monday.
The plane that took off from Ankara, landed in Trabzon on May 10th for bunkering. It had to wait a few days at Trabzon Airport because of adverse weather conditions, and left for Tabriz at noon, on Sunday.
The plane was piloted by a British citizen named Michiael Newman and Pakistani citizen B. Bhangoo.
"Civil defense and gendarmery teams have launched a wide-scale search and rescue operation in the vicinity," noted the governor.
"However, the searches have been suspended as it got dark, and they will be resumed tomorrow morning," Okutan added.
