ANKARA - "Despite a decision to hold elections, our government will continue to implement its economic program," said Abdullatif Sener, Turkish State Minister and Deputy PM, on Monday.
Sener held a press briefing after today`s Council of Ministers meeting that lasted less than three hours.
"The Turkish parliament will continue to work this week and in the next several weeks," told Sener.
Sener indicated that Turkey is in a negotiation process with the European Union (EU).
``Negotiations are going on smoothly and we have made some progress in certain chapters``, noted Sener.
Touching on recent rallies being held across Turkey, Sener underlined that "regardless of the type of demonstrations, regardless of the topic of demonstrations, and regardless of the goals of demonstrations, every one in Turkey has love for the flag and is strongly attached to the Republic of Turkey and are loyal to the principles of the republic."
``Despite differences of thoughts and perceptions, the people of Turkey need to embrace each other``, stressed Sener.
